I work from home, spend most of my time indoors and don’t have a very active lifestyle naturally. I’m still not where I want to be, but as of late working out and moving my body has become increasingly more important to me. What’s even more important to me is finding plus size activewear that fits my body well, moves with my comfortably and supports me during whatever work out I’m committed to. After seeing that Nike released plus size activewear, I decided to try some of the pieces out for myself.
Obviously, being the fashion blogger than I am, style is of the utmost importance to me. I had plans to go work out with a friend downtown and we wanted to take advantage of the beautiful, sunny weather while we were out. I hate packing heavy, so I decided to just wear out my work out gear afterwards. Paired with my pink coat, mustard scarf and a light hoody, I still felt like me walking around busy downtown Toronto. What’s even better was having that extra movement that I wouldn’t typically have with my usual choice of attire. If you’re less of a colour gal, and more into neutrals, Nike has a large selection of those options too.
Now I’m sure you’re all wondering about the most important part; the fit and quality. I’m usually a little weary of trying out new plus size clothing, but knowing that Nike is already a really well developed and trusted brand, I had high hopes. I’m pleased to say those were met and then some. The tights, to start, were really comfortable but form fitting. I didn’t get that dreaded see through bum from stretched material, I felt pretty comfortable in the size 3x I picked for myself. For reference, I typically wear a size 20-22 bottoms these days and I really felt the sized reflected that. Additionally, the tights had a lot of torso room, which is often something I have an issue with since I’m a big belly gal. I paired a pink sports bra with my blue bottoms and again, felt very comfortable and supported. I knew I would be doing a lot of stretching, moving and bouncing in the bra so I had to be supported. Not always the easiest thing when you have DD breasts and a small selection of sports bras on the market that fit you. Thankfully, I did my work out without even so much as a second thought when it came to support in the bust.
Whether you’re just working out to move your body like me, or you really do want to kick up your workout regime, I highly suggest trying out the Nike plus size activewear line. I know I’ll be buying my future activewear from Nike from now on!
