It’s not officially Spring outside just yet, but we’re almost there and I’ve already started to think of how I want to revamp my bedroom for the new season. I don’t know about everyone else, but I’ve been obsessively thinking about how I want to change the vibe of my bedroom for one of my favourite seasons. Although it seems like a daunting task, I promise the path to a brighter, more floral themed bedroom is easier than you think. In fact, there are big, and little ways you can totally change the vibe of your living space. I’m not even remotely close to being an interior decorator, but after endless hours of Youtube videos and some personal research, here are some ways I’ll be changing out my space.

Change Your Bedding:
Every year since I was a little girl, my mother would change out my winter bedding for spring/summer sheets & a comforter. I’ve developed the habit of removing layers and switching to lighter sheets, but only recently realized how refreshing changing the style of your bedding can be. Right now, I’m bookmarking floral, leaf print and fruit print comforters and I can already envision how much of a change that will make in my bedroom. Additionally, switching our your sheets to a lighter colour and sticking to a lighter fabric will even help you sleep better as night!

Bring in Plants:
Whether you have a green thumb or not, adding real or fake plants will instantly change the vibe of any space. Not to mention, finding decorative plant pots can transform as space as well. There are endless options to pick from and a wide variety of places to buy them from. There’s also an abundance of information on how to care for your house plants, which will help you pick the right plants for you. If caring for a plant isn’t your thing, go the artificial route! It may not bring in the added benefits of a real house plant, but it’ll certainly make it feel like spring!

Switch Up Your Pillows:
Just like your bedding, switching up your pillows will do wonders. In fact, if you really can’t part with your bedding, adding or changing out your current throw pillows or even pillow cases will do the trick. Right now, I have a relatively spring colour scheme going on in my room with pinks and mustards. However, I’ve started to look for different textured pillows, as well as green decorative pillows to add to the mix. Pillows can be a bit pricey, so I suggest picking one of two you really like and making them more of a focus on your bed.

Change your Colour Scheme:
We all know that winter is all about cool tones, and as much as I love those, its time to switch them out for warm hues! Changing up your colour scheme can be as simple as replacing accessories and as I mentioned above, switching up your bedding and pillows. Removing darker, or even dull shades and replacing them with earthy greens, pastel pinks and mustard yellows will give your room a sudden burst of spring.

Texturize Your Space:
Just with colour, textures change with the seasons as well. Textures are often found in bedding, carpets, linens, and furniture. If you’re still unsure whats missing in your space to make it really feel like the season has changed, try looking at these places and see where you can mix it up. Something as simple as putting down a woven carpet with earthy tones, or a adding tasseled accent throw over your bed can help transform your space. Don’t underestimate the impact of texture!
Whether you tackle every single area I mentioned on the list, or you pick one to focus on, I hope you enjoyed my little list of ways to make your bedroom feel like spring. I’d love to hear your approaches or see your bedroom transformations in the comments below. Until next time!
I love to change my bedding come spring/summer. Then again in fall/winter. I put away my comfy thick blanket/comforter and pull out my bamboo blankets/sheets for the warmer weather. I find the change in bedding can change the whole room.
