    Sealed with a Kiss

What’s a girl to do when you’ve been cooped up for too long? Why, dress up, of course! I’m not easily motivated these days. At the very most, I’ll put on mascara and head out for my daily walk. There’s just nothing to dress up for when you’re going to Tim Hortons to read a book.

I’m trying to stay on task these days and one of my very many Dos on my “To-Do’s” list is outfit photos. I’ve also been challenging myself to grab pieces I haven’t worn in awhile/haven’t ever worn. Not as easy as it might look! There’s a very good reason they’ve stayed in my closet so long. Even after five years of blogging, I’m still completely clueless about what to wear sometimes. It can happen to the very best of us!

Would you believe that I just threw this whole outfit together? Because I totally did! The unseasonably warm weather has given me a bit more playroom with my outfit choices but honestly, I’m willing to endure the cold for a good outfit. Unfortunately, all of these pieces were purchased last season or even further back than that so I can’t give you any links!

    OoTD – The Birthday Dinner

    Posted in Uncategorized by
My brother celebrated his 28th birthday on the 17th of March and luckily for me, the weather was nice enough to dress for spring. Originally I had planned to wear my Peter Pan collar dress from Asos but I tried this ensemble on and fell in love. The skirt shown was originally a dress I purchased from Walmart in the summer but I had a love/hate relationship with it. I love the print of the bottom but loathed the black, zipper top and I felt it didn’t really do anything for me. I was inspired by rawrmanifesto to chop the top half off and use it as just a skirt. I’m really pleased with the results and I cannot wait to wear it more often this summer. The cat eye glasses didn’t make it out the door but they were fun to wear for picture purposes.

    OoTD – The Meet Up

Last tuesday I had the pleasure of meeting fellow blogger Faye Daniels (content NSFW). We dinned and took a stroll through Indigo bookstore (which was incredibly beautiful, by the way). I wanted to look super cute, seeing as she is the owner of fuckyeahchubbyfashion. I had a wonderful time and she looked cute as ever!
Before leaving, I ditched the oxfords heels. It was far too cold and snowy to bare walking outside. I also tossed on a cardigan for warmth.

    OoTD – The Rainy Day

Yesterday was just one of those days. The weather was dark and gloomy, as well as my mood. I had some errands to run so I threw on a casual but colourful ensemble (that kind of resembles the Portuguese flag, according to my mom).

    OoTD – The Hard Believer

It’s Saturday and the only plans I have are to hang out with my cat and clean. I started a new job on Monday so I’ve been exceptionally busy through the week (but I wouldn’t have it any other way). On Friday, I finally had a chance to snap a few shots of my outfit.

I went a little snap-happy but I had been meaning to get out my red trench for a set since I started putting my outfits online. I found this gem about 2 years ago at Wal-mart for $14 and it’s been true love ever since. Even though the colour is a bit faded now, I gave it a really thorough wash and it looks brand new all over again.
One thing I try to pull off with each outfit is to include a statement piece. I kept my entire outfit very neutral and simple. Alone, it would look rather plain but adding the red trench created that pop of colour and unique feel I was looking for. Another fun way of creating the same statement is a coloured lip. I’m looking forward to doing that a lot this season. Coloured blazers, lipstick and shirts are a great addition to an otherwise boring wardrobe.
