    OoTD – The Birthday Dinner

    Posted in Uncategorized by
My brother celebrated his 28th birthday on the 17th of March and luckily for me, the weather was nice enough to dress for spring. Originally I had planned to wear my Peter Pan collar dress from Asos but I tried this ensemble on and fell in love. The skirt shown was originally a dress I purchased from Walmart in the summer but I had a love/hate relationship with it. I love the print of the bottom but loathed the black, zipper top and I felt it didn’t really do anything for me. I was inspired by rawrmanifesto to chop the top half off and use it as just a skirt. I’m really pleased with the results and I cannot wait to wear it more often this summer. The cat eye glasses didn’t make it out the door but they were fun to wear for picture purposes.

    OoTD – The Nurse

    Posted in Uncategorized by
I recently became pen-pals with fellow fashion blogger Yammering Muse. In her first package to me, she included three dresses and I was ecstatic to wear them. I have always loved her style and her keen eye for cute, unique articles of clothing. Included in her package was this light blue, button-up dress. At first glance, I felt as thought it resembled a nurse’s uniform so I was a bit concerned about whether or not I could pull it off. I’m not used to dresses with such a straight cut, so I wanted to make sure I added a belt in order to keep my shape.
I felt this dress could go either way. I could stick to my usual pin-up inspired accessories and add red lipstick and heals or I could try pulling off cute for once. I remembered that I purchased a really adorable necklace from Penelope’s Porch on etsy a few months ago and that I hadn’t ever worn in and decided to throw it in the mix. Originally, I had a brown belt but felt it didn’t work with the black undershirt, so I switched it up with the one pictured.
I felt very comfortable in this outfit, the material of the dress was quite easy to move in. However, it felt a bit strange to be wearing something so different from my ‘regular’ style. I think maybe next time, I’ll try and turn this around into something a bit more sexy and see how that goes. I may just go ahead and cut off the sleeves and alter it a bit. I could see this turning into a great summer and/or beach dress.

    OoTD – The Meet Up

Last tuesday I had the pleasure of meeting fellow blogger Faye Daniels (content NSFW). We dinned and took a stroll through Indigo bookstore (which was incredibly beautiful, by the way). I wanted to look super cute, seeing as she is the owner of fuckyeahchubbyfashion. I had a wonderful time and she looked cute as ever!
Before leaving, I ditched the oxfords heels. It was far too cold and snowy to bare walking outside. I also tossed on a cardigan for warmth.

    OoTD – The Diamond Day

I turned this OoTD into a mini-photoshoot with a close friend (and aspiring makeup artist). The weather was beautiful and there were plenty of amazing colours outside to play off of. I had an incredibly fun time with this shoot as I’m sure you can see from some of the photos.
My eyes can hardly stay open right now but I didn’t want to wait another day to premiere these photos. Aside from the bad hair day, I thoroughly enjoyed how the shoot turned out and I hope everyone else does too!

OoTD – The Blue And Red… Again

Aside from the obvious repeat of the colour combination from my last post, I wanted to accomplish a more sultry look then usual. I had this dress from Asos tucked away in my closet for quite some time. It’s a tad too large on me so I threw on a belt to give myself some shape. One thing that initially drew me to this dress was the sleeves. The photos don’t quite illustrate how gorgeous the bell shaped drooping is. My only issue with the dress is how absurdly wide the neckline is. It’d be wise to either go bra-less or wear a strapless bra with this dress. Although you really can’t tell from the photos, I did have to keep adjusting the shoulders to stay up.
I’m wearing my favourite shade of red lipstick from Mac – Russian Red (matte).

    OoTD – The Professional

    Posted in Uncategorized by

About two weeks ago I purchased a beautiful red blazer from a local thrift store. Its no secret that I adore the colour red and I adore blazers, so when I found the mix of the two I couldn’t resist ( I really need to go thrifting more often).

It’s been awhile since I’ve worn actual jeans but I came across the perfect pair of jeggings (those still count as jeans, right? I’m just going to cheat and say they do.) over the weekend. They make the end of skirt weather a tiny bit easier to accept.
