Hi loves – here’s a very quick and kind of old OoTD for you. I had intentions for something entirely different today but my memory card, with all of my stored photos and videos, is basically destroyed at this point. I’m sad but I’m happy I had these saved on my computer already. This outfit is totally out of my norm but its something I’d wear again, without a doubt. Everything, right down to my hair and the lip colour, came out exactly how I imagined in my head. Don’t you love it when that happens?
This is going to be a picture heavy post because I’m literally obsessed with my new glasses. I don’t think I’ve ever found something that embodies my personality more. People either love them or hate them but I’m completely smitten. What do you think?
Aside from the obvious focus here, tis finally the season to break out my favourite dress!!! Every single summer I live and breathe in this ASOS curve gingham dress and I can’t believe I ever considered not buying it. There are certainly pieces I’m dying to get my hands on this summer but nothing ever comes close to the love I feel for what I already own. When gingham print was on trend, I was living in pure bliss. I miss those days! Aren’t we do for another round of gingham print collections soon?
My big, huge heart glasses showed up just in the knick of time to greet the warm weather. I can’t get over how perfectly they go with this dress and I’m starting to think they are MFEO (meant for each other, if you didn’t get my Sleepless in Seattle reference). As much as I genuinely enjoy creating new outfits, there’s nothing like that one ensemble you love to overwear… right? Maybe thats just me but I’m not ashamed of it. I’ve got massive heart eyes for this aesthetic (I had to)!

Our winter has been incredibly strange this year. We’re having unusually warm weather and cloudy, rainy days. Its really bothering me much more than usual. It doesn’t feel like the holidays, does it? Today is Christmas eve and my brain keeps thinking I’ve got at least another month until the big day. Can’t a girl just get a little snow? I guess I can’t complain too much. Its a bit nice to have weather that allows me to get around on foot with ease and to continue wearing lighter clothing. I’m a sucker for bundles but not having to completely limit myself to my winter boots has been nice.
Now, I guess I should mention my outfit seeing as this is a fashion blog, after all. I’m swooning hard over this lilac sweater but I cannot believe I found it at Joe Fresh. I used to work at Joe Fresh as a young 20 year old. I always loved and envied their clothing line but I couldn’t ever fit into a darn thing. I was much, much smaller than I am now, too.. but I guess they’ve made a huge change to their sizing because I fit with room to spare. If you’re Canadian plus size person and you want some inexpensive, cute clothing I really, really suggest giving Joe Fresh a chance. I bought this adorable lilac sweater for only $12! I really wish I splurged and bought more but now I’m holding out for post-Xmas sales. There’s nothing like a little retail therapy to get your through this winter blues!
In one of my attempts to feel better, I bought “A tale for the time being” by Ruth Ozeki. I’ll admit, I half expected myself to just let it collect dust in my collection of other unread books but I’m hooked. I’ve only got about 70 pages left and I’m conflicted about it coming to an end. I like this routine an awful lot and I’m not quite ready to let go of the story. What are some of your favourite novels? Do you have any suggestions for my next book? I want to make 2016 the year of reading!
With all that being said, I hope you have a very merry holiday season. I know this time of year can be terribly difficult for a lot of people so treat yourself if you can. Find your comfortable place and stay there until its over if need be! No matter what you’re doing, I hope you’re happy and I hope you’re well.

I’m not entirely sure whats happening with me but suddenly (or slowly) I’ve drifted from my usual go-to style. Fashion and personal style is a bit weird like that. I’ve often said you can tell my mood from the way that I dress and this year certainly brings a different side out of me. I’m absolutely in love with this time of year but its so bittersweet to me. Once all the trees are officially bare and the sun starts setting around 5pm, my mood plummets. I’m certain I’m not the only one who gets this way. Its a constant battle every year to find new, healthy ways to deal with my fall/summer depression.
This year I’ve been doing a fairly good job of pushing myself to stay productive. Getting up early and putting myself together with enough time to catch some sunshine has been extremely helpful. October brings me so much joy and sadness all at the same time. I struggle and I push forward and find my way through it. Fashion and blogging has been a God send in ways. I started this little blog about this time of year 5 years ago. I can hardly believe how quickly time has gone by and I often become nostalgic whenever the shorter days begin. It was this time 5 years ago that I started the most exciting, challenging and rewarding projects of my life. Do you suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder? What are ways you cope with the shorter, gloomier days?

I’m obsessed with this top, I’m obsessed with this print and I’m even more obsessed with Rue 107
. Honestly, if I wasn’t pinching every penny I have I’d probably have worn Rue 107 the entire summer. I know this is totally out of season now, but I really did have every intention of making this post a month ago! Also, I promise Rue 107 has literally no idea I’m making this post, I’m just sharing some massive love for one of my fav plus size shops right now.

Apple picking is one of my absolute favourite Summer/Autumn traditions, even if I end up sweating and regretting my clothing choices. Some may say its too early in the season to walk away with anything worthwhile but you should have seen the size of the apples we picked! Gilbert and I walked away with two massive bags and a lot of apple cider donuts. I can’t wait until we go back because I’ve been picky promised that we’ll leave with pumpkins this time. I’m so wildly excited for fall!
I almost never have anything to say about my clothing anymore and I feel a little forced when it comes to this part. I think I feel more authentic talking about my emotions and events around what I’m wearing. A lot of the times I’ll match my clothing to my mood, which I think I’ve discussed before. Would anyone really hate if I stopped (poorly) talking about my clothing? I’ll still make a point to mention where I got everything and organically mention my outfit. Its just been a struggle to discuss fashion for me these days and I’m not even entirely sure why!
