    A Family Affair

    Posted in fashion, ootd by
Don’t worry, I’m not going to make posting cell phone OoTDs a regular thing but since I didn’t have anything else to post today I thought I’d share my outfit from the summer. I’m already deep in the mourning stages of one of my favourite seasons and I found myself looking through all of my fond memories this past summer. I had so many exciting things to do and one of them was attending my cousin’s wedding. I have an extremely large family so it never seems like its too long until someone is getting hitched again. I have a bit of a complicated relationship with my family. Whether it  be comparison being the killer, too many of us to feel like I can be that close with anyone or just straight up family frustrations coming to a boil. However, even if I go a few years being angry at the people I call family, I’m immediately reminded of why I love where I come from whenever we’re all together. I’m immediately reminded of the reasons I’m so proudly Portuguese and so eager to talk about my crazy and eclectic family. Seeing any of them get married makes me choke up a little. I’m proud of them for finding love and happiness in their life.
Although I don’t feel entirely comfortable sharing my *ahem* “unusual” style with my family, I cannot pass up the opportunity to dress in my best. Too much cleavage is a really big no, no for a lot of my family members but I’ve always danced to the beat of my own drum. As a young girl, I was very timid and shy. I kept to myself and certainly never dressed up. Ever. Sometimes I wonder what my family thinks of my caterpillar to butterfly transformation. I wonder if they’re proud of me for overcoming years of self doubt and low self esteem. Maybe I’ll never know. Anywho, enjoy these adorable photos of me and my cousin’s daughter, Olivia. She’s absolutely precious and always so sweet and kind!

    OoTD – The Rainy Day

    Posted in Uncategorized by

Yesterday was just one of those days. The weather was dark and gloomy, as well as my mood. I had some errands to run so I threw on a casual but colourful ensemble (that kind of resembles the Portuguese flag, according to my mom).

    Shirt – Old Navy
    Skirt – Forever 21
    Tights – Fashion Max
    Coat – Laura Plus
    Boots – Walmart
    Earrings – Stitches
    Ring – Aldo

OoTD – The Blue And Red… Again

Aside from the obvious repeat of the colour combination from my last post, I wanted to accomplish a more sultry look then usual. I had this dress from Asos tucked away in my closet for quite some time. It’s a tad too large on me so I threw on a belt to give myself some shape. One thing that initially drew me to this dress was the sleeves. The photos don’t quite illustrate how gorgeous the bell shaped drooping is. My only issue with the dress is how absurdly wide the neckline is. It’d be wise to either go bra-less or wear a strapless bra with this dress. Although you really can’t tell from the photos, I did have to keep adjusting the shoulders to stay up.
I’m wearing my favourite shade of red lipstick from Mac – Russian Red (matte).
Dress – Asos Curve (no longer available)

    Purse – Aldo Accessories

    OoTD – The Librarian

    Posted in Uncategorized by

I had a job interview today, so I decided to pop a few shots in before I headed out. The weather outside was far too windy, so I was forced to take mirror shots.

My friends call this my “librarian look” so it seemed fitting to for an interiview. I wanted to remain professional looking, as well as keep a bit of my personal style with this ensemble. I kept everything very simple and opted to dress it up with my favourite new pair of heels. They were such a great find!
Again, I kept everything to a bare minimum. I absolutely adore the high-waisted skirt I purchased from Asos Curve. It’s a great fit, though a little bit delicate (I managed to rip one skirt along the seam – thankfully, I accidentally ordered two) but perfect for just about anything.

    OoTD – The Basics

I wasn’t intending to really do much with my day, except lay in bed and browse through to create outfits. Unexpectedly, plans arose so I had a reason to get myself all dolled up.

No real intention with this outfit. In fact, I didn’t really even know what the plans were when I threw it on. I figured it’d be appropriate for most situations I would end up in. However, blazers don’t allow for much movement when it comes to bowling. Next time I’ll opt for a cardigan.
Unfortunately, my camera battery died on me before I could take any photos of the details. I wore the Asos Multi Metal Rings short necklace and paired it with gold rose earrings I picked up from Aldo Accessories. I wanted to keep my outfit as minimal and simple as possible.
    Blazer – Thrifted (Value Village)
Dress – Walmart (Again, its always worth checking out!)
    Leggings – Fashion Max
    Boots – Walmart
