Happy Spring, my loves! Up until just yesterday, I was in snowy Boston so I wasn’t able to fulfill my wish of giving you a spring OoTD. However, I did deliver on Spring pastels!! If you’re like me, you look forward to this time of year with excitement and impatience. Pastels, gingham, fruit print; they’re all making their way back to us!
My dear friend Corissa of Fat Girl Flow sent me the coziest, comfiest sweater a few months ago and I’ve been meaning to work it into an OoTD since then. What better way to send off winter and welcome spring but in a pastel “Fat Babe” sweater!
Ps, I know the word “Fat” can still be very challenging for a lot of people to own and accept. However, the word brings me a lot of joy and empowerment. I spent a whole lot of time running from the very idea of being called fat. Once I allowed the word to stop haunting me, my life has improved dramatically.
A few years ago, I was totally bonkers for berets. I owned one in just about every colour, but quickly realized I had no real occasion or outfit to suit them. Now, berets are back in style and I’ve been kicking myself for giving my impressive collection away. So, I took to Amazon fashion to replenish my stock and found a few for an incredibly affordable price. My only major gripe about an old trend coming back in style is how ridiculously expensive it suddenly becomes. I wasn’t about to pay $20 per hat. Thank God for Amazon Fashion!
While shopping, I decided to snag some clothes because well, that’s just who I am. Amazon fashion can be really scary to buy from but also a great resource for hidden gems. So long as you know how to search for what you’re specifically looking for, read the reviews and compare prices, its a goldmine.
Maybe you already know this, but I have a hard time styling purple. I literally have no idea why, but my brain just can’t compute the right way to put it into an outfit. However, when I spotted this Curvy Sense duster, I felt very compelled to give it a whirl. As it turns out, I might not be as hard as I anticipated. Additionally, it’s no different than styling other pastels. Who woulda thunk it?
Do you ever spend days planning an outfit in your mind…. or is that just me? That’s precisely what I did for a solid week (or two?) with this little number. I’ve had my heart set on styling my Be Nice sweater in an actual outfit since my Galentine’s Day themed photoshoot. Thankfully, the whole look translated perfectly in real life!
I’m back with another business appropriate outfit today! You guys loved my approach to plus size fashion workwear, so I figured I’d revisit the idea. As I mentioned, my work day looks a little different but I’ve always felt that being in an office space shouldn’t limit your creativity with fashion. Sometimes, its just adding bold accessories or adding some colour. Workwear doesn’t have to always be drab, mundane or boring.
My day on the job might look a little different than a lot of people. Working for myself often means staying indoors, most times I’m wearing my “day time pjs” and I seldom get to stretch my office apparel muscles. Sometimes though, I like to work at a quiet coffee shop. Its pretty important to get outside when so much of your job requires you stay indoors and away from people. However, a few weeks ago, I made my way to Toronto for a full work day with my pal Erica and I took the opportunity to dress the part. Ps, she took these photos!
