Alright, it snowed her in Toronto so I can officially write this without feeling like I’m jumping into winter content too soon. I woke up to about an inch of snow on the ground this morning and the first thing that popped into my head was “shit, where are all of my boots?”. Evidentially, I have absolutely no idea but I can point you in the direction of about 20 different slightly different pairs of ankle booties. Here in Canada, that just won’t cut it. So naturally, I’m spending today on a hunt for at least one solid pair of boots that I can wear practically and one paid of wide calf boots that’ll protect me from the snow but keep my outfit on point.
Since I tend to go into these lists with so much gusto and give up before I even publish, I wanted to show you my favourite pair of boots from a variety of trusted wide calf (and wide footed) stores I like. Most of my go-tos have a wide selection of boots I’m constantly debating over, so feel free to click the link to further explore your options. Anywho, lets see some wide calf winter boots that are actually wide calf’d.

Surprise surprise, Addition Elle is leading the list. I’ve kind of been in love with them since shooting for the their fall campaign. Big things are happening over at Addition Elle, but the quality and comfort we have all grown to love has remained the same. I narrowed down my endless list of boots I want, to these black water-resistant heeled boots. Great for a casual walk to the coffee shop, or a dinner date with your gal pals. I can’t believe I don’t own a pair of basic black winter boots, or at least haven’t up until I pressed “confirm order” after seeing this. Go explore more wide calf boots here!

Torrid almost always finds a way into their master posts and that’s for a good reason. I’ve grown to trust them and expect a level of quality and style whenever I’m shopping there. As per usual, I found a large selection of wide calf boots in an even larger variety of styles. I opted for this sweater trimmed boot because I’ve been very interested in the look for years. Something about it screams cozy winter day to me, and I’ve been itching to live out the fantasy of slipping them on to comfortably run some errands. Another added bonus to these beauties is that fact that you don’t have to spend an extra 5 minutes lacing up the boots because there’s a hidden zipper on the side. Who doesn’t love that!? Ps, check out the rest of Torrid boots here!

Eloquii has more of your fashion boot, but as I already mentioned, its important to have a few of those too. Winter footwear doesn’t have to ruin an outfit, and I stand by that 100%. I’ve been itching to get my hands on these white, knee high, pointed toe boots for MONTHS and I think it’s about time to officially take the plunge since they’re currently 40% off. Just think of how elevated an outfit would be paired with these beauties! Eloquii has a long list of other fashion boots and footwear here!
I’m going to the be the first to admit that maybe I don’t always shop at Ashley Stewart but something about the winter reminds me to check out their store. That probably has a lot to do with the fact that I’ve only ever purchased boots from them, but here’s a general reminder to me to look more often. All that being said, one of my favourite things about Ashley Stewart footwear is that you can pick from wide-calf or medium-calf footwear. What a great option for inbetweenies or even apple shapes like myself! More options for plus size gals will never be a bad thing. I highly suggest checking out Ashley Stewart boots for a wide variety of fashion and practical boots!

DSW is one of those places that I haven’t personally shopped from but I’ve seen them all over instagram, facebook and more. Pricing is a bit higher than usual, but DSW does carry a lot of designer brands and rumour has it that they’re great quality as well. Even though I didn’t find an incredibly large selection of wide calf boots, I did find a lot of options that I’d actually wear. Take this riding boot, for example. I’d wear the heck outta it on a slightly less snowy day. I love that the buckle is a gold accent as well. Check out the rest of DSW wide calf boots here!

Penningtons sort of falls under the same umbrella as Addition Elle, with a lot of the same boots and options. However, I did find a few other options while browsing as well. I can distinctly remember shopping for wide calf boots and wide width shoes are Penningtons in my youth and the excitement of finding the right pair for me was still present when checking out the selection just now. This slouchy suede boot comes in a few different colours, but there’s something about taupe that makes me think sunny winter day attire. Make sure you check out the rest of Penningtons footwear here!

Colour me freakin’ ecstatic to see that Macy’s not only carries a pretty decent collection of wide calf boots, but also carries some wide calf over the knee boots. Nothing will make you feel like you hit the jackpot more than finding an over the knee boot in wide calf! Again, I went for a brown but there’s two different black options available in different finishes as well. You won’t wanna skip over Macy’s wide calf boots, so check ’em out here!

Continuing with that same thought, I figured it was a good idea to mention another pair of over the knee boots I’ve tried and tested myself. Fashion to Figure released an incredibly similar pair (less of a heel, more of a rounded toe) boot last year which I own in both black and brown. A classic example of more a fashion boot, these suede beauties are great for dressing up a pair of jeans or throwing on over tights. Personally, I find them to be even a little wider than my already wide calf which seems completely unreal to me. Fashion to Figure has a lot of boots and footwear to pick from if this fashion boot isn’t your thing. So make sure to check out the selections here!

I couldn’t go without mentioning good ol’ Amazon. Even though Amazon carries a large variety of boots from a lot of different vendors, I felt safe knowing I could scroll on down and find reputable reviews from buyers. Not to mention, having an option for overnight shipping with Prime is a game changer since your girl is in need of a pair toDAY after we getting slammed with 10 inches of snow overnight. It doesn’t hurt that I found some of the cheapest options here too! Make sure you take the time and scroll through your options on Amazon, because you won’t regret it!

I gave you some high end, pricier options but I thought I’d finish this list off with something more affordable. Before I knew anything about plus size fashion, I could always count on Walmart to be my quick and inexpensive option for wide calf boots. I’ve had many of pair through the years that have latest through some really intense winter months. It looks like Walmart has gotten a bit more fashion forward as well, which you’ll never find me complaining about. If you want to shop more affordable wide calf boot options, click here!

And to close, we have Target wide calf boots. Target has quickly become one of my favourite places for shoes in general, but I’ve never done a search for wide calf boots until this post. As expected, I found an extensive collection of fashionably and practical wide calf boots from some of my favourite brands. If you’re not a fan of the suede look, don’t worry! Target has a multitude of wide calf boots to pick from at such an incredibly affordable price. If they’re anything like the other shoes I’ve purchased in the past, they’re likely to stand the test of time as well!
Well, that’s everything for now, folks! I am sure I could keep on going but I wanted to make this as concise as possible. I hope I’ve made you search for the perfect wide calf winter boot easier this winter. Until next time!
