FIRST OFF, I apologize for having this post up a day late but my blog layout has been acting real funny. So yesterday was really just spent making sure I had most of the bugs worked out, but I think we’re back in action now!
ANYWAY, how are you? How’s life? Are you freaking out because I’m suddenly into wearing pants all of a sudden? Yah, me too. I bought into the trend, you guys and there’s no coming back. There’s something real nice about not worrying about your butt making a a surprise appearance whenever I wear dresses/skirts!
Before I get into the outfit portion of this blog post, I wanted to mention a post I was recently featured in about VBO. My friend Lexie wrote an incredible piece about different body shapes, how we’re labelled and how brands treat us! Since I’m rocking a lot of VBO in this outfit, it seemed fitting to mention her! Check out her “Body Shapes, Brands and Privilege; No Fruit Salad!”
I’m pretty methodical with my fashion choices, so I’ll spend hours (and sometimes weeks) planning out shoot days. In a rare occurrence, I threw this whole ensemble together in a matter of minutes. I’ve had these houndsooth (maybe not houndsooth?) pants since like, last year and they’ve been taking space since them. I’m still weirdly unsure about them, and I think its because of the ruffled ankle. I’d LOVE for it to sit at either my ankle or mid-calf but it just sits weirdly in the middle. WHY FASHION NOVA CURVE, WHy?! Aside from all the critiquing I just did, I still dig the whole look! You gotta get out of your comfort zone sometimes, especially when you feel your whole look is inspired *ahem* me *ahem*!
