Winning love by daylight! Never running from a real fight, she is the one named Sailor Moon! Like most kids who grew up in the 90s, I was obsessed with Sailor Moon. I wanted to be Sailor Venus and swooned over Neptune + Uranus. My sisters and I made my mom record Sailor Moon on VHS everyday so we’d never miss a single episode. It became routine to come charging through the door right after school, plop ourselves on the couch and start the next episode. We built a collection over the years of Sailor Moon memorabilia, thanks to the cheap anime & manga shop across the street. As well as my sister’s friend Wallice, who happened to be from Japan and had access to all the original episodes. Those were the days, but my love of Sailor Moon didn’t end with the 90s.
Let’s face it, we all love a good sale and I can’t be the only one who looks forward to this time of the year. Personally, I haven’t got money to shop them all but in a dream world, I could. For now, I’m just going to have to settle for compiling a list of my top 10 Black Friday deals.
Elegant Access Cardigan in Teal / Antique Market Maven Sweater / Midi Skirt in Olive / Bespeak Mystique A-Line Dress
Modcloth: 40% off $200: FRIDAY40 / 30% off $100: FRIDAY30 / 25% off everything: FRIDAY20
Clearly, Modcloth would be one of the first on the list. I have been a huge fan of their retro style for a long, long time. What I’m not a fan of though? Their prices! I’m definitely going to take advantage of the sale.

Its beginning to feel a lot like Christmas and everywhere you look, clothing lines are starting to release their Holiday collections. I don’t know about all of you, but I’m so excited I could burst. I was lucky enough to get a little sneak peek at what Simply Be‘s gorgeous Winter collection before it was officially released, and I even luckier to get a chance to own some of them.
Words truly fail me when it comes to this dress (and this entire collection, but thats for later). At first glance, I was blown away by all that glitter. I’m not a huge fan of sequin but I’m a girl who loves her sparkle, so finding another alternative has been a must for me. After wearing this, I want to dip all of my clothing in glitter and twinkle everywhere I go. Just looking at this dress, I knew it was going to be a show stopper and thats exactly what it turned out to be.
Maybe its the bright yellow colour, maybe its the unique cut , or maybe its the 70s vibe this dress radiates. This dress was an attention-grabber from the second I walked out the door. I love pieces that do that, and I realize how few of them I actually have in my wardrobe. Just this July, I was sent this stunning number from SimplyBe but it always seemed a little too warm for our summer days. As beautiful as it is, I was worried it would end up hanging in my closet like so many other dresses I own. Although this isn’t your typical mid-November outfit, it somehow seemed an appropriate fit for our unusually warm weather.

Alone, the dress has some of the most beautiful sleeves I’ve ever seen and such a gorgeous shape to it. Its almost a shame I didn’t wear this dress on its on, but once I paired it with this pink jacket I knew they were MFEO. I cannot even begin to tell you how much I’m obsessed with this whole look and how often I’ve worn in since I took these photos. This whole look is so wearable and works for so many different occasions, too. I’m in LOVE!

My style has essentially been the same over the years, a mix of sultry and sweet. With October just passing and Christmas approaching, I’ve been ditching the dark pieces and switching them out for bright colours again. There’s just something about playing up my sweet side that I keep coming back to.
